Welcome to our luxury rental vacation home, a lovingly restored early 20th century 
peasant cottage with approximately 7.5 acres - 3 hectares - of natural woodland and 
meadow in the environmentally protected Orseg National Park in western Hungary. 


The 100 year old house sleeps six comfortably and is one of the few properties in the National Park

No matter what season you choose to vacation at our house you will experience the benefits of being in 
an area which focuses on eco-tourism.

Summer 
In summer there are lots of outdoor pursuits including: 
 - swimming in the local lakes
 - horseback riding
 - biking and hiking
 - visit wineries in the region
 - relax on Lake Balaton, less than one hour away
 - and fishing or strolling in the woods in search of rare mushrooms

Autumn/fall 
In autumn/fall the hunting of wild boar, deer and pheasant is permitted by license in the Park as a 
means of culling the wildlife and, though one may not want to hunt, one can savor the produce at a 
fine local restaurant. 

Winter 
In winter the house is a great base for skiing in Austria while others enjoy staying at the house, 
cozying up to the traditional ceramic stove with a glass of fine Hungarian wine and a bowl of goulash 
made by our local cook.
 
Spring 
Spring is usually early in Orseg and while some may want to enjoy relaxing 
and walking in the outdoors others may want to continue skiing. 
In every season however, one can take the thermal waters at the famous Hungarian spas - including the 
spectacular new spa that opened in 2007 in Szentgotthard, our local town. 
The house is a perfect place to take a relaxing vacation while enjoying the luxuries of home!
